Hello
from Erika!
Thank you for stopping by our website. Here you will be viewing outstanding art by some of society's talented artists who are challenged not only by the industry's highly competitive world, but also by their severe physical disabilities. I started this project because I believe my talented artist friends deserve to be farther along in their chosen careers. Recognizing that I can contribute to making this happen because I have more physical resources despite my own disabilities, I have contacted these artists to let me represent them so I can give this goal my best shot. I am diagnosed with post polio syndrome (PPS) and scoliosis. But Erika's Friends artist Karen Wheeler suffers a form of Muscular Dystrophy known as Spinal Muscular Atrophy which left her with very limited movements. In fact she informs me she is the only surviving artist in Southern Nevada with this diagnosis! We have to hurry and make her famous!!! Another criteria I have for our artists is our great sense of humor which is exactly what Karen successfully projects in some of her pieces. I'm proud to present an additional artist to our group named Suzanne Short. She acquired a C4 spinal cord injury Suzanne has successfully reinvented herself since injury through her detailed art the she produces by drawing and painting with her mouth. Read more about the artists by clicking on the Artist tab above. Visit our Products page to view our latest items for sale. Also, we occasionally auction pieces on Ebay for discounted prices so do keep an eye for auctions with Ebay ID "erikasfriends". Please stop in our SUPPORTERS page to view the kind folks that support this project. It is my vision to eventually have a permanent physical building for the artists I represent so that I may provide everybody the honor of meeting the artists in person. An Internet showcase is terrific but there is nothing like experiencing art and people in person! If you are a disabled artist and are interested in my representation, please don't be shy. I am very interested in meeting you and seeing your work. I am happy to hear from you and I will respond to all e-mail, except SPAM mail. If you have a showcase, a group art show, a gallery space, or any kind of opportunity that you think can give us a hand PLEASE contact me. Perhaps we can sell you some artwork, we have originals, prints and other products. I will not be shy to accept gift donations toward this project because I know it will only bring us closer to our goals. I consider myself very fortunate that they share their world with me. I would like to invite you in with us for an experience you will always remember. For answers to all questions, please refer to the contact page by clicking on the button above. (-: Hey Thanks! :-)
